• Are you struggling with acute feelings of anxiety or depression?

  • Has a recent event, medical diagnosis or a longstanding traumatic experience left you feeling overwhelmed?

  • Are you losing hope for the future of your marriage or relationship? Has negativity overtaken your interactions with your mate?

  • Are you struggling as a parent to balance loving support with clear limit-setting?

  • Does it feel like, despite your best intentions, you keep repeating the same unhelpful patterns of behavior or thinking at work or with friends and family?

When life presents important challenges, losses or transitions, when the comfort or advice of family and friends proves inadequate, working with a trained mental health professional can be your best response.

As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to diagnose and treat conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders and OCD, among others. My approach is collaborative and supportive asI first help you identify your goals for therapy. You may primarily be seeking relief from distress and worry. Or maybe you’re looking to understand your tendencies and motivations more deeply, change some unhealthy habits, improve your self-confidence. Many of my clients report getting unstuck from behaviors, thoughts or feelings that have felt frozen or uncontrollable.  By valuing and highlighting your strengths,  I encourage greater self-confidence and resilience. At the same time, I am eager to help you deepen your relationship with significant people in your life and to become more comfortable with areas of vulnerability and uncertainty.

During this unprecedented and uncertain time, many people are experiencing more anxiety, depression, or symptoms of PTSD.  If you are seeking support at this time, while looking to maintain social distancing behaviors to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, you may want to consider remote/teletherapy. While most of my 30+ years of practice have been conducted in-person, I have been offering teletherapy via Zoom videoconferencing for more than four years and my clients have appreciated its usefulness and effectiveness. In an effort to support the health and wellbeing of my clients and following the recommendations of public health officials, I will only be conducting teletherapy until further notice.
